It's a very great advantage when the content of your website is fed with information from a Content Management System. You log in to a secure part of the website and change all the text, news, products etcetera. After saving these changes are directly visible on the website.
In the past people often chose for a static website because of the lower cost.
This is, besides the costs, very annoying because when you want to change something you have to ask the buidler of the site to do this for you.

CRM system
A widely used application is a socalled Customer Relations Management sytem. This is nothing more then a database with all the data from your clients and contacts in there that you can use in various ways. Also projectmanagement often is a part of a CRMS. Employees register their billable hours and you can charge your clients automatically each month.
